Jay was born and reared in South Boston, Virginia where he was touted as a gifted child. At age four, his pre-school teachers recognized his natural talent for art and urged his parents to provide opportunities to nurture his skills.

As he grew up, art was still Jay's focus at Virginia Tech where he majored in Interior Design and minored in Art. Upon graduation, he decided to embark on a slightly different career path as he took a position as a Web Designer. Combining his knowledge of art and technology, he has since crossed over into the realm of interactive media as well as print design.

Recently, with encouragement from family influence as well as watercolor classes taught by a local Richmond artist, Jay rediscovered his passion for art. Today, he combines creativity and talent to produce a unique style of his own.
